Improvements Coming

This project will include widening and reconstructing I-70 from two lanes to three lanes in each direction between the major interchanges with I-79 (North Junction and South Junction), South Strabane Township, Washington County, PA. The project includes the reconfiguration of Exit 19, SR19 Murtland Avenue interchange to eliminate the current “cloverleaf” configuration and provide a diamond type interchange. The project also includes the widening of the existing ramp from I-70 westbound to I-79 northbound at Exit 18 to provide two lanes.

Travel Details
Motorists traveling Interstate 70 in the area of Exit 19 Murtland Avenue Interchange can expect daytime shoulder closures through mid August 2017. The project is currently in the final construction phase as the contractor continues to perform electrical work and median grading behind guide rail and/or concrete barrier.
Motorists traveling State Route 19 can expect daytime shoulder closures between the intersection with Oak Spring Road and the intersection with Trinity Point Drive to remain in effect til mid August 2017. The contractor continues to construct sidewalks and median islands off the edge of shoulder.
